Ministry of Culture and Tourism Traditional Turkish Cuisine Campaign

It is well known that Turkish Cuisine is among the most famous  three cuisines in the world.

Our traditional food and drink stuffs with their taste, excellence and service contribute to promotion of our culture and tourism.

Different services and local culture are among the tourist attracting elements. In this frame, it is considered that Turkish Cuisine is an important element for attracting tourists, it must be preserved in the long term, its service standards must be improved, and it must be supported.

According to the article 42. of the Regulation on Certification and Standards of Tourism Establishments,  establishment which doesn’t meet the standards or kind on this regulation, but have at least one feature of  building, street, nature, art, history, provide qualified service with educated and experienced staff or have a special operation with its originality, superior service, national or international fame is called Special Establishment.

Entrepreneurs who demand Special Tourism Operation Certificate will apply to the Ministry with detailed visual and written document related to the establishment's feature. Tourism Investment can’t be certificated except establishments, which realized in the buildings which is registered as a cultural asset.

Tourism Investment, Operation or Partial Operation Certificate demands are decided by Evaluation Board, which is determined at the  article 11. of the Regulation.

Campaign aims to preserve traditional food and drink stuffs and services, transmit them to the next generation, encourage them and put forward establishments, which have originality, national or international fame, provide superior service with educated and experienced staff.

Operations which provide qualified service with educated and experienced staff or have a special operation with its originality, superior service, national or international fame, have a trade mark on public opinion and sustain this mark will be awarded by Special Tourism Operation Certificate.

Operations which will be certificated in this campaign scope, will be listed and promoted on the ministry’s web site.

Entrepreneurs who demand Special Tourism Operation Certificate will apply to Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Invensments and Operations İsmet İnönü Bulvarı No:5 Emek/Ankara address with detailed visual (VCD, DVD etc.) and written document related to the establishment's feature which stated on the article 5. and 6. of the Regulation.
